Lille vs PSG – Ligue 1: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

Fresh from squeezing into the Champions League last 16, Paris Saint-Germain return to Ligue 1 duties on Sunday evening when they visit Lille.

PSG struggled in their draw with Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday but eventually sealed a runners-up place in Group F as Warren Zaire-Emery equalised following Karim Adeyemi’s opener while Newcastle were beaten at home by AC Milan.

Lille are the most recent side other than PSG to win Ligue 1, claiming the title back in 2020/21, and continued their journey in continental competition by topping their Europa Conference League group.

Here’s 90min’s preview of Sunday’s game between two of France’s biggest forces.

Striker Jonathan David missed out in midweek and remains a doubt to feature against the French champions. If the Canadian is absent, Yusuf Yazici may get the nod up front.

Tiago Djalo isn’t expected back from his cruciate ligament injury until later this month, while former Wolves and Fulham winger Ivan Cavaleiro also won’t be available.

Lille predicted lineup vs Paris Saint-Germain (4-2-3-1): Chevalier; Santos, Yoro, Ribeiro, Gudmundsson; Bentaleb, Andre; Zhegrova, Gomes, Cabella; David.

Arnau Tenas will step back into the PSG starting XI in goal for the suspended Gianluigi Donnarumma in the most glaring change from Wednesday’s draw at Borussia Dortmund.

Warren Zaire-Emery recovered quicker than expected from his injury sustained during the November international break and should start after scoring in Germany, while Ousmane Dembele is free to play having been suspended.

Sergio Rico, Nuno Mendes, Keylor Navas, Presnel Kimpembe and Fabian Ruiz are all out injured.

Paris Saint-Germain predicted lineup vs Lille (4-3-3): Tenas; Hakimi, Pereira, Skriniar, Hernandez; Zaire-Emery, Ugarte, Vitinha; Dembele, Mbappe, Barcola.

PSG extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to six games with the draw at Dortmund, but little about the performance was impressive.

They’ll be tested by a Lille side that boasts an even more impressive unbeaten streak of 13 matches which dates back to the end of September, though there is still a nine-point gap between the two teams in the Ligue 1 standings.

PSG are unbeaten on their league travels so far this season and will hope talisman Kylian Mbappe can add to the ten goals he has scored against Lille so far in his career.

Prediction: Lille 2-3 Paris Saint-Germain
