Liverpool confirm filming of documentary on Jurgen Klopp’s final season

Liverpool have confirmed that a docuseries is being filmed to detail Jurgen Klopp’s final season at Anfield.

Klopp shockingly announced that he is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 campaign, bringing an end his illustrious nine-year stint with the club. During his time at Anfield, Klopp won the club’s first league title in three decades in 2020, as well as the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

The legendary manager heads into the final few months of his Liverpool tenure on the brink of adding even more silverware to his already lofty collection. The Reds currently sit top of the Premier League table and are still in contention in the UEFA Europa League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup – booking their place in the final of the latter thanks to a recent semi-final win over Fulham.

Liverpool have now revealed that Klopp’s final campaign with the club is now set to be part of a docuseries, with filming on the series already underway.

A club statement on the series confirmed that Lorton Entertainment, the company behind the Diego Maradona movie, will film, direct and produce the multi-episodic series about “the club’s journey to the present day and the telling of human stories against the epic backdrop of Liverpool Football Club.”

Speaking about the series, Klopp said that he was excited to give fans an insight into his final campaign at Liverpool: “With this being my final season I thought we should provide a rare opportunity for viewers to have more of an inside look at what makes this club so special: its people, from our fans to our players and those who work so hard behind the scenes, constantly in pursuit of success for Liverpool Football Club.

“Thanks to this new documentary series, viewers will be able to see what I see every day at this great club, and understand those amazing people more.”
