Liverpool vs Toulouse – Europa League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

Liverpool will be looking to maintain a 100% start to their Europa League campaign when they host Ligue 1 side Toulouse on Thursday night.

Jurgen Klopp has handed chances to the fringe members of his squad under the lights, with the Reds beating LASK and Union Saint-Gilloise to leave themselves in a commanding position in Group E.

Thursday’s hosts head into their next continental bout having edged past Everton in the Merseyside derby at Saturday lunchtime.

Toulouse, meanwhile, are four games unbeaten in all competitions after securing their second consecutive draw in Ligue 1 on Sunday. Carles Martinez Novell’s side currently sit tenth in Ligue 1 and have amassed four points from their opening two Europa League fixtures.

Here’s everything you need to know about Liverpool’s upcoming game.

Klopp will be hoping that Cody Gakpo will soon be available for selection, and the Dutchman could make Thursday’s matchday squad. However, the forward is unlikely to start.

Thiago Alcantara is also edging closer to a return, but he and Stefan Bajcetic aren’t expected to feature until November.

Andy Robertson is now a long-term absentee after undergoing shoulder surgery.

Liverpool predicted lineup vs Toulouse (4-3-3): Kelleher; Gomez, Matip, Quansah, Tsimikas; Endo, Jones, Elliott; Nunez; Jota, Diaz.

The visitors have a couple of injury concerns heading into Thursday’s game. Toulouse are set to be without Zakaria Aboukhlal until the end of November. The Morocco international ended last season mired in controversy following accusations of homophobia and sexism but, firmly reinstated in the squad, is sidelined with a straightforward knee injury.

Oliver Zanden (hip) and Ibrahim Cissoko (foot) are also unlikely to feature for the trip to Anfield, with the pair not back until next month.

Toulouse predicted lineup vs Liverpool (4-1-4-1): Restes; Desler, Costa, Nicolaisen, Suazo; Sierro; Dannum, Schmidt, Casseres, Gelabert; Dallinga.

Toulouse’s league position at this early stage isn’t a false one: they’re a middling Ligue 1 outfit. As a result, even a rotated Liverpool side should have no issues brushing them aside on home soil.

The visitors are neither potent nor stout, and Liverpool have so far been efficient in this competition. A performance similar to their Matchday 2 triumph over Union Saint-Gilloise will be enough for them to bypass Toulouse with relative comfort on Thursday.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Toulouse
