Luton Town vs Liverpool – Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

Liverpool will look to make a dent in the gap between them and the top of the Premier League when they visit struggling Luton on Sunday.

The Hatters’ first top-flight campaign since 1991/92 has yielded only one win so far, with Rob Edwards’ side sitting in 18th after three defeats in their last four outings.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have bounced back from their disappointing 2022/23 term by losing only one game so far this time around, most recently progressing to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup by winning 2-1 at Bournemouth on Wednesday.

Here’s what you need to know ahead of Sunday’s game.

Manager Edwards told his pre-match press conference he would not be able to welcome back any injured stars on Sunday.

Arsenal loanee Albert Sambi Lokonga is among those ruled out for Luton, alongside Amari’i Bell, Dan Potts, Mads Andersen and Reece Burke. Jordan Clark and Luke Berry will also be absent for Liverpool’s visit.

Carlton Morris will continue in attack and will likely be joined by Chiedozie Ogbene, while former Everton midfielder Ross Barkley could make a fourth league start of the season.

Luton Town predicted lineup vs Liverpool (3-5-2): Kaminski; Mengi, Lockyer, Osho; Kabore, Mpanzu, Barkley, Nakamba, Doughty; Morris, Ogbene

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp did not rule out Luis Diaz from featuring on Sunday. The Colombian winger, whose father remains a hostage after being abducted by kidnappers, has taken part in training this week.

Andrew Robertson, Thiago and Stefan Bajcetic remain out of action and there is competition for a midfield place between Curtis Jones, who recently returned from a three-game suspension, and the impressive Ryan Gravenberch.

Liverpool predicted lineup vs Luton Town (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Nunez, Jota.

Luton Town vs Liverpool score prediction

Luton fans are still waiting to usher in their return to the Premier League with a win at Kenilworth Road, with their sole triumph coming away at Everton at the end of September. There’ll be no lack of effort from Edwards’ side but the gap in quality between the two squads is stark.

Liverpool have won four games on the trot in all competitions and unless they add to their league-leading tally of four red cards so far this season, there’s little reason to suggest their excellent form will vanish during their trip to Bedfordshire.

Prediction: Luton Town 0-3 Liverpool
