Man City vs Young Boys – Champions League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

The Champions League group stage has once again been a procession for Manchester City, who can book their place in the round of 16 on Tuesday night.

The current holders are one of four teams to have won their opening three games, and they already hold an eight-point advantage over third-place Young Boys, who they take on next.

The Cityzens won pretty comfortably in Switzerland two weeks ago despite the hosts drawing level after Manuel Akanji’s opener, and Pep Guardiola will be expecting another stress-free night in midweek.

Here’s 90min’s preview of Man City‘s upcoming Champions League group game against Young Boys.

Guardiola will undoubtedly rotate for Tuesday’s Champions League encounter following Saturday’s walk in the park.

Erling Haaland was withdrawn at half-time against Bournemouth and almost certainly won’t be risked in midweek. Thus, Julian Alvarez should start up top with Phil Foden potentially dropping into midfield.

Matheus Nunes should also start with Jack Grealish, Ruben Dias, and Josko Gvardiola all coming back into the side.

Kevin De Bruyne remains sidelined for the hosts.

Man City predicted lineup vs Young Boys (4-3-3): Ederson; Lewis, Dias, Stones, Gvardiol; Rodri, Nunes, Silva; Foden, Alvarez, Grealish.

The visitors will be without Kastriot Imeri, who is out for the season with a cruciate ligament injury. A foot issue will also see Lukasz Lamony miss out on Tuesday night.

Young Boys could otherwise deploy an unchanged side from the reverse fixture. Sandro Lauper was sent off in their Swiss Super League win on Saturday, but he’ll be available for this Champions League clash.

Young Boys predicted lineup vs Man City (4-3-3): Racioppi; Blum, Camara, Benito, Garcia; Ugrinic, Lauper, Niasse; Monteiro, Itten, Elia.

The Cityzens simply don’t lose these sorts of games. Last season’s treble winners have made light work of Group G thus far, and they should confirm their spot in the round of 16 on Tuesday.

Guardiola will shuffle his pack and he could be without leading man Haaland, but City have got more than enough to breeze past Young Boys emphatically in this one.

This should be another walk in the park.

Prediction: Man City 4-0 Young Boys
