Manchester United will wrap up their pre-season preparations with a friendly against La Liga side Athletic Club on Sunday.

The Red Devils returned home following their tour of the United States with a 3-1 victory against Lens at Old Trafford on Saturday, and the turnaround for their final pre-season fixture will be a short one.

Erik ten Hag’s men will make the short trip to the Irish capital of Dublin to take on an Athletic Club side that finished an impressive eighth last season but have won just one of their five summer friendlies thus far.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of this one.

Having played just over 24 hours earlier against Lens, Ten Hag is likely to call upon those without many or any minutes in the legs already this weekend.

That means stars such as Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Raphael Varane and Casemiro are likely to sit out, while new signings Mason Mount and Andre Onana will also be watching on from the sidelines.

Rasmus Hojlund was officially unveiled as Man Utd’s newest player prior to kick-off against Lens, but arrives having picked up a minor injury during Atalanta training and is currently unavailable for selection. Amad Diallo, Anthony Martial and Tyrell Malacia are also on the treatment table.

Fans at the Aviva Stadium are set to witness the likes of Harry Maguire, Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek take to the pitch.

Ten Hag is in line to name a side similar, if not identical, to the one that started their back-and-forth 3-2 loss to Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas.

Goals should be guaranteed, but it’s hard to tell whether or not that will be a good thing for the Dutch boss.
