Man Utd vs Bournemouth – Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

Both Manchester United and Bournemouth have seen their respective Premier League form improve in recent weeks ahead of what promises to be an intriguing game at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Erik ten Hag’s side enjoyed an impressive 2-1 win over Chelsea on Wednesday night while Bournemouth went to Crystal Palace and inflicted a 2-0 defeat on Roy Hodgson’s out-of-form Eagles.

There is confidence flowing through each side now, but they are also both in fragile situations. One defeat for Man Utd can change the entire feeling around the team, while a loss for Bournemouth could see them slip back down the standings.

Here is all you need to know about the meeting between this duo on Saturday.

Manchester United may have managed to navigate the Chelsea win without any major injury concerns, although Victor Lindelof was replaced at half-time with Luke Shaw pushed into the centre-back role, while Raphael Varane missed the game due to a ‘sore back’.

The likes of Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho both appeared to be limping towards the end of the game, but that may just be the result of a high-effort performance at Old Trafford. Despite the good display, there will likely be some rotation with the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on the horizon.

The likes of Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Mason Mount, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen are all still out of action.

Man Utd predicted lineup vs Bournemouth (4-2-3-1): Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Evans, Shaw; Amrabat, McTominay; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund.

There are still plenty of injury concerns for Bournemouth despite the good form that they have found recently. As many as seven players are expected to miss this clash with Man Utd.

Long-term absentees Ryan Fredericks, Emiliano Marcondes and Darren Randolph are still some way short of match fitness. Summer arrival Tyler Adams is set to be recovering from hamstring surgery until February while Max Aarons is also pencilled in for a return in 2024.

Lloyd Kelly and Alex Scott could both make it back before New Year’s Day but neither is likely to feature as soon as Saturday.

Bournemouth predicted lineup vs Man Utd (4-2-3-1): Neto; Smith, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kerkez; Cook, Christie; Semenyo, Kluivert, Sinisterra; Solanke.

Both of these teams seemed to be in serious trouble slightly earlier in the season and while it takes much longer for Man Utd to be viewed in a different light, this is a good patch of the Premier League season for both sides.

Given the quality of the players, Man Utd have to be viewed as the favourites to secure another important three points here at Old Trafford but don’t expect Bournemouth to roll over and give Ten Hag’s side an easy afternoon.

Prediction: Man Utd 2-1 Bournemouth
