AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan is considering his future with a host of top clubs around Europe interested in signing him, 90min understands.
Now France’s regular number one, Maignan has established himself as one of the best goalies in the world and previously attracted interest from Chelsea when the Blues were locked in negotiations with Milan over the sales of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic.
The 28-year-old is keen for his next contract to reward his progress in recent years but 90min understands talks with the Rossoneri over a new deal have not gone well and a fresh agreement is not imminent. His current terms run until 2026.
Clubs around Europe are taking notice of the situation. Paris Saint-Germain are currently best-placed to snare their former youth product, who went on to make a name for himself at Lille where he won the 2020/21 Ligue 1 title.
PSG are seriously considering moving on from Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has struggled for consistency in France and was recently sent off for a ludicrous challenge in his side’s 2-0 win over Le Havre.
Chelsea are still on the hunt for another goalkeeper despite bringing in Robert Sanchez over the summer and are being kept informed on the situation, while Bayern Munich also see Maignan as a potential long-term replacement for Manuel Neuer.
The Blues made Kepa Arrizabalaga the most expensive goalkeeper in the world back in 2018 when they gave Athletic Club £72m for the Spaniard’s services, but he was largely inconsistent and is instead now earning good reviews while on loan with Real Madrid.
Maignan is not the only Serie A star interesting Mauricio Pochettino’s side. 90min understands the Stamford Bridge outfit are upping their pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who is increasingly unlikely to sign a new contract with the Italian champions.
