New York Red Bulls vs FC Cincinnati – MLS Cup playoffs preview: TV channel, live stream, team news & prediction

New York Red Bulls take on FC Cincinnati in game two of MLS Cup playoffs at Red Bull Arena on November 4.

The Orange and Blue proved to be too much to handle for Red Bulls in game one, as a brace from the versatile Alvaro Barreal and a lone strike from MVP frontrunner Lucho Acosta sealed the victory for the home side.

But now in game two, could Red Bulls snatch a result at the death with help from John Tolkin and Elias Manoel to stay alive in the postseason?

Cory Burke, Lewis Morgan and Hassan Ndam are all set to miss the clash with lower body injuries. The trio could be back in action in mid-November should New York progress through the playoffs.

New York Red Bulls predicted lineup vs FC Cincinnati (4-4-1-1): Miguel, Duncan, Reyes, Nealis, Tolkin; Fernandez, Amaya, Edelman, Luquinhas, Barlow; Manoel.

Center-back Nick Hagglund is set to miss the rest of the playoffs with a leg injury, and it’s a huge blow dealt to Cincinnati as he was an integral part of Pat Noonan’s back-three.

Joining Hagglund on the injury list is Santiago Arias, another key component of the defense who should be back in action later this month once he recovers from his own leg injury. Yet another leg injury shows up on FCC’s report, with London Aghedo missing out with a leg problem. Aghedo is also expected to return at some point this month.

FC Cincinnati predicted lineup vs New York Red Bulls (3-4-1-2): Celentano; Mosquera, Miazga, Murphy; Powell, Nwobodo, Moreno, Barreal; Acosta; Vazquez, Boupendza.

Even without Hagglund in the defense, it’s hard to see anything other than a Cincinnati win in this one. They have plenty of depth in the defensive unit, so it would be surprising to see them give up more than one goal.

Cincinnati’s attacking trident of Acosta, Vazquez and Boupendza will look inflict harm upon the New York defense, sealing a narrow victory on the road to inch one step close to their MLS Cup dream.

Prediction: New York Red Bulls 1-2 FC Cincinnati
