PSG predicted lineup vs Al Nassr

Luis Enrique’s quest to prepare for life without Kylian Mbappe continues on Tuesday when Paris Saint-Germain face Al Nassr in a pre-season friendly.

Mbappe is among a group of players who have been left at home to resolve their futures which, with Lionel Messi leaving as well, has seen Enrique inherit a squad which looks incredibly different to last season’s chaotic outfit.

Here’s how the new boss could set up for this one.

Marco Asensio

GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma – The goalkeeper was the victim of a horrific break-in at his family home but has still made the trip to Japan.

RB: Achraf Hakimi – There has been plenty of transfer talk surrounding Hakimi but, for now, he remains on the books in Paris.

CB: Milan Skriniar – PSG’s new-look defence will be led by Skriniar, who was a huge signing on a free transfer from Inter.

CB: Marquinhos – Providing the veteran leadership at the back is Marquinhos, who has a new partner to get to grips with after the departure of Sergio Ramos.

LB: Lucas Hernandez – Perhaps not signed as a left-back, Lucas may get the nod here as Nuno Mendes continues to recover from injury.

DM: Marco Verratti – Another who finds himself in the gossip column, Verratti is now entering his 11th season with PSG.

CM: Manuel Ugarte – PSG spent a lot of money to land Ugarte ahead of fellow suitors Chelsea and will be keen to see their investment pay off as soon as possible.

CM: Vitinha – Vitinha was among the favourites of former boss Christophe Galtier and the Portugal internatonal will hope to have the same influence now that Enrique is in the dugout.

RW: Lee Kang-in – The first of several big changes in attack, Lee was brought in for big money and is now under plenty of pressure to finally live up to the potential attributed to him years ago.

ST: Marco Asensio – It was Asensio who started centrally last time out, with Enrique clearly prepared to pursue a false-nine approach now that Mbappe is out the squad.

LW: Neymar – The last man standing from PSG’s megastar trio, it’s over to Neymar to finally lead PSG to European glory this season.
