Two of the most prominent clubs in France meet on Friday night when Paris Saint-Germain host title hopefuls Monaco at Parc des Princes.
PSG have found their groove under new manager Luis Enrique, picking up six wins from their last seven games in all competitions. The blip in that record came in the Champions League in a 2-1 defeat to AC Milan at San Siro.
The reigning Ligue 1 champions are perched at the top of France’s top flight, three points ahead of Monaco who sit in third. Adi Hutter’s side aren’t in Europe this season, having only finished sixth in 2023/24.

Breakout young star Warren Zaire-Emery had a very mixed international break. The 17-year-old scored on his senior France debut but also suffered a significant ankle injury which will keep him out of action until 2024.
Presnel Kimpembe is back in training but won’t be rushed back from the Achilles tendon problem he picked up back in February.
Marquinhos injured his hamstring while playing for Brazil and admitted it would be “difficult” for him to play on Friday night. Danilo Pereira missed three games before the international break, leaving manager Enrique short on options in central defence.

There will be worries over the extensive travelling of stars like Folarin Balogun, Takumi Minamimo and Guillermo Maripan during the November international break. If Balogun is a little jaded, Ligue 1 stalwart Wissam Ben Yedder may get the nod up front.

PSG are beginning to find their feet but losses in the Champions League to Newcastle and Milan still hint at some defensive deficiencies that could be exploited by Monaco on Friday night, especially with a few key players out injured.
Monaco were disappointing in their last outing, needing a penalty save from goalkeeper Philipp Kohn in the 100th minute to preserve a goalless draw at Le Havre, and will have to show more teeth in the final third to come away from Parc des Princes with any points.
There could be some tired legs with this game coming so soon after the international break and that could result in a fair few goals being scored, with PSG the favourites to take the win.
