Spain vs Georgia – Euro 2024 qualifier: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

Spain finish up their Euro 2024 qualification campaign with Georgia’s visit to the Estadio Jose Zorrilla on Sunday evening.

Luis de la Fuente’s side have already qualified for next summer’s European Championships and enjoyed a 3-1 win over Cyprus in their penultimate match in Group A. However, Spain still need a victory against Georgia to ensure they finish qualification in top spot, although a draw would likely be enough due to their healthy goal difference.

The team hunting them down in a bid to finish first are Scotland. Steve Clarke’s side have already qualified for Euro 2024 as well, which is bad news for Georgia who now have nothing left to play for in Group A.

Here is the lowdown on Spain’s final Euro 2024 qualifier.

Of the players named in the Spain squad for the November international break, there are two potential doubts and one guaranteed absentee for the clash with Georgia this Sunday.

One of those is Manchester City‘s Rodri, who missed out on the win over Cyprus as a precaution. The 27-year-old could be rested again for the visit of Georgia given Spain should have enough in the tank to win without the midfielder.

The other doubt is Valencia’s Jose Gaya. The left-back has been suffering from a knee injury and also missed the clash with Cyprus, replaced by the impressive Bayer Leverkusen defender Alex Grimaldo.

Mikel Oyarzabal may have scored against Cyprus but the Real Sociedad man was substituted before half-time with a hamstring injury and will return to his club.

Spain predicted lineup (4-3-3): Simon; Carvajal, Le Normand, Torres, Grimaldo; Gavi, Zubimendi, Merino; Yamal, Morata, Torres.

Georgia lost two players during their feisty 2-2 draw with Scotland last time out, one of whom was Panetolikos winger Levan Shengelia, although he was used as a wing-back against the Tartan Army.

Defender Luka Lochoshvili is also a doubt for the Spain clash after being withdrawn against Scotland shortly after Shengelia.

Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will be hoping to add to the brace he scored against Scotland on Thursday.

Georgia predicted lineup (5-3-2): Mamardashvili, Kakabadze, Kvirkvelia, Kashia, Kalandadze, Azarov; Chakvetadze, Kvekveskiri, Kochorashvili; Mikautadze, Kvaratskhelia.

Given Spain’s blistering form and the fact that they beat Georgia 7-1 in their last meeting, De la Fuente’s side should wrap up top spot in Group A with a comfortable victory. Whether the Spain boss chooses to rotate or not, the 2010 World Cup winners should ease to three points.

Spain have been in good goalscoring form of late as well, netting 19 in their last five matches. They may well add to that impressive total against a Georgia side with nothing left to play for.

Prediction: Spain 3-0 Georgia
