Tottenham predicted lineup vs Bournemouth

Tottenham will look to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they travel to Bournemouth for Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off.

Spurs earned a 2-2 draw at Brentford before lift off occurred in Ange Postecoglou’s first official home game as Pape Matar Sarr scored his first goal for the club in a 2-0 victory over Manchester United in north London.

They face a Cherries side looking for their first win of the campaign under revered Spanish boss Andoni Iraola.

Here’s the side Postecoglou could pick with the aim of taking three points home from the south coast.

GK: Guglielmo Vicario – Has revealed he isn’t interested in taking the number one shirt should club stalwart Hugo Lloris leave in the final few weeks of the transfer window. Made a total of six saves in his clean sheet against Man Utd.

RB: Emerson Royal – The early indications are the right-back spot is up for grabs between Emerson and Pedro Porro, though away from home the Brazilian may get the nod as the more defensively-sound option.

CB: Cristian Romero – Substituted at Brentford after scoring and survived a strong penalty appeal last weekend. May want a quieter afternoon here but that’s not really his style.

CB: Micky van de Ven – Was spun a few times on his home debut but Van de Ven’s recovery pace will be a useful cheat code for Spurs over the coming seasons.

LB: Destiny Udogie – Has got the early season nod ahead of Ivan Perisic and Ben Davies and looks the part already, showing plenty of attacking intent from left-back.

CM: Pape Matar Sarr – Popped up in the box to score his first Tottenham goal against United and will be rewarded with another start in what is a blossoming midfield partnership with Yves Bissouma.

CM: Yves Bissouma – Now freed from the shackles of negativo-ball, former Brighton star Bissouma has shown his class in the Brentford and Man Utd games and already looks like an integral part of Ange Postecoglou’s starting XI.

RW: Dejan Kulusevski – The Sweden international’s run to the byline led to Sarr’s opener, though he is still on the hunt for his first official goal contribution of the season.

AM: Giovani Lo Celso – There are fears James Maddison may not be able to feature this weekend after leaving Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a protective boot. If Spurs’ new creative leader isn’t available, his spot and responsibility may fall on the shoulders of Argentina international Lo Celso.

LW: Son Heung-min – Like Kulusevski, Son is waiting for his first goal involvement but the new Tottenham captain was much improved against United after a more timid showing at Brentford.

ST: Richarlison – Still needs to get more involved in Tottenham’s attacking play, having only had two shots in the opening two games.
