Tottenham vs Everton – Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

A pair of resurgent sides clash in north London on Saturday as Tottenham play host to Everton in the Premier League.

While Spurs have won back-to-back games after enduring a wretched run, Everton, despite their midweek Carabao Cup exit, are one of the league’s form outfits. They’ve won four straight in the top flight and have seemingly been emboldened by their harsh ten-point deduction.

Everton’s excellent run has seen them climb up to 16th and, crucially, they’re already seven points adrift of the drop zone.

Given Tottenham’s absences, exacerbated by two key suspensions, the Toffees will fancy their chances of picking up their sixth away win of the season on Saturday. The hosts, meanwhile, will climb above Manchester City with a win.

Here’s 90min’s preview of Everton’s trip to Spurs.

The hosts will once again be without Yves Bissouma after he was sent off in the victory over Nottingham Forest. Destiny Udogie also picked up his fifth yellow card of the season last time out and will miss Saturday’s game.

Spurs’ injury list remains extensive. Micky van de Ven and James Maddison are two significant absentees, as is Rodrigo Bentancur. Ivan Perisic, Manor Solomon, and Ryan Sessegnon also remain out, while Giovani Lo Celso is a major doubt.

Brennan Johnson should be okay to feature after getting substituted with a suspected conclusion at Forest.

Tottenham predicted lineup vs Everton (4-3-3): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Davies, Emerson; Hojbjerg, Sarr, Kulusevski; Johnson, Richarlison, Son.

Abdoulaye DoucoureAbdoulaye Doucoure

Jarrad Branthwaite is eligible to return after serving his one-game suspension last weekend. The talented young defender started at left-back in midweek and he may feature there in north London.

Abdoulaye Doucoure is a doubt with a hamstring injury, and there will be no wholesome reunion for Dele Alli, who misses out with a hip issue.

Seamus Coleman, Ashley Young, and Vitaliy Mykolenko are all unlikely to feature.

Everton predicted lineup vs Tottenham (4-4-1-1): Pickford; Patterson, Tarkowski, Keane, Branthwaite; Harrison, Onana, Gueye, McNeil; Garner; Calvert-Lewin.

Everton have found their groove under Sean Dyche, and they’ve proven to be particularly potent away from home. The Toffees, given their set-piece prowess and ability to defend in a deep, compact block, are built for beating teams of Tottenham’s ilk.

Spurs will be handicapped by Udogie and Bissouma’s suspensions, that’s for sure, but Ange Postecoglou will still be able to deploy a bold attacking combination.

The hosts will be forced to huff and puff throughout, while Everton aim to pick their moments wisely. This is an intriguing bout which is tough to call, and perhaps the spoils will be shared when it’s all said and done.

Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Everton
