Toulouse vs Liverpool – Europa League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

Liverpool need just a point to qualify for the Europa League knockout stages with two group games to spare when they face Toulouse on Thursday evening.

Jurgen Klopp has made full use of his squad during the group stages thus far, with his side making light work of the competition so far, winning their opening three games comfortably.

The German boss will now be keen to return to winning ways following Sunday’s draw at Luton Town in which Klopp bemoaned his side’s ability to create chances against a stubborn defensive block.

They shouldn’t have such issues against a Toulouse side that are winless in five in all competitions. The French side have lost back-to-back Ligue 1 encounters after succumbing 5-1 at Anfield two weeks ago which has seen them slide down to 14th in the table.

Here’s 90min’s preview of Liverpool’s upcoming Europa League fixtures.

The hosts have a few injury concerns, although their current absentees are expected to return to action by the end of the month.

Oliver Zanden (hip) is expected to return before the international break while joint-leading scorer Zakaria Aboukhlal (knee) and Denis Genreau (back) should be fit after the upcoming internationals.

The visitors are still likely to be without Spanish midfielders Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic. It remains to be seen when both will make their respective comebacks from injury.

Andy Robertson is a longer-term absentee.

Klopp will once again shuffle his pack and welcome fringe squad members into his starting XI. Luis Diaz could start after equalising late on at Luton, while Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones will surely start in midfield alongside summer arrival Wataru Endo.

Liverpool predicted lineup vs Toulouse (4-3-3): Kelleher; Gomez, Matip, Quansah, Tsimikas; Endo, Elliott, Jones; Nunez, Gakpo, Diaz

Liverpool were frustrated by Luton on Sunday, but they shouldn’t have any issues on their travels this time around. This Toulouse side are in free fall, with the Reds proving their superiority in the reverse fixture.

The Premier League giants have breezed through the group thus far, and that theme should continue away from home on Thursday evening.

Prediction: Toulouse 0-3 Liverpool
