Young Boys vs Man City – Champions League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

Manchester City’s attempt to steamroll all competition in Group G continues when they visit Swiss outfit Young Boys on Wednesday in the Champions League.

The Cityzens managed to end their brief crisis which contained three defeats from four games by defeating Brighton last time out and have won both their games in the UCL this season by 3-1 scorelines.

Young Boys picked up their first point with a draw against Red Star Belgrade after an opening defeat to RB Leipzig and sit two points behind leaders FC Zurich in the Swiss Super League.

Here’s what you need to know ahead of this European clash.

Young Boys have a fit bill of health heading into Wednesday’s clash, with only midfielder Kastriot Imeri ruled out through injury.

Among their major goal threats are 30-year-old Frenchman Jean-Pierre Nsame and Switzerland international Cedric Itten, who have five and four goals respectively in the Super League this season.

Young Boys predicted lineup vs Manchester City (4-3-1-2): Racioppi; Janko, Camara, Benito, Garcia; Males, Ugrinic, Niasse; Elia; Monteiro, Itten.

Pep Guardiola’s only current injury absentee is Kevin De Bruyne. His natural replacement continues to be Julian Alvarez, who scored the first goal against Brighton before Erling Haaland ended his drought in front of goal.

Manuel Akanji was sent off late in that 2-1 win and may retain his spot in the starting XI so City don’t suffer any fitness issues in defence before the Manchester derby at the weekend.

Manchester City predicted lineup Young Boys (4-2-3-1): Ederson; Walker, Dias, Akanji, Gvardiol; Rodri, Kovacic; Foden, Alvarez, Doku; Haaland.

The one game City won during Rodri’s domestic suspension came in the Champions League – for which he was available – as the reigning champions comfortably got the better of RB Leipzig.

However, Young Boys are a team City would be expected to be with or without Rodri as they look to book progression to the knockout stages of the competition as early as possible.

This game presents City with the perfect chance to return to form with a bang and that’s exactly what they should do.

Prediction: Young Boys 0-3 Manchester City
