Pop star Britney Spears and actor Sam Asghari are reportedly on good terms as the two finalize their divorce.
The former couple met on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video and started dating shortly after meeting. They became engaged in September 2021, two months before her controversial 13-year conservatorship came to an end.
The couple tied the knot in June 2022. In the divorce filing, Sam put down July 28, 2023, as the date of separation but did not file for divorce until August 16, 2023. They have already reached a custody agreement concerning their five dogs; however, Sam requested spousal support despite the pop star’s ironclad prenup.

Even though they did not spend Thanksgiving together, it looks like the 29-year-old actor and the 41-year-old pop star are on good terms despite heading toward divorce. Sources told TMZ on Friday, November 24, that their divorce settlement has almost been finalized. Britney is still living in her Thousand Oaks estate, while Sam moved into a luxury high-rise in Los Angeles. Britney has been footing the bill for his new apartment, which reportedly costs $10,000 a month.
Insiders told the outlet that, despite the prenup, Britney will be writing a check to Sam amid the divorce that’s in the low six figures. Although it was rumored that Sam, represented by his high-power attorney Neal Hersh, would contest the pop star’s prenup, that never happened. The former couple did, however, stop communicating as they decided to let their respective legal teams handle the split.
Although fans were concerned that Britney had lost her primary support system due to her complicated relationship with her estranged family, it seems that she has been doing well amid the success of her memoir “The Woman In Me.” Her tell-all memoir sold over a million copies in its first week and has done so well that it looks like Britney is already working on a sequel.
‘The Woman In Me’ Might Be Getting A Sequel
The pop star has revealed that she has been working on a sequel in two deleted Instagram posts. Although it’s clear that Britney has more to say, her publisher has yet to confirm the news that a sequel is really in the works.
It appears that Britney did not say all that she wanted to say about Sam in her memoir “The Woman In Me.” It was reported soon after the former couple called it quits that Sam made sure to file for divorce after Britney had already signed off on the final copy of her manuscript, so she was unable to make any changes to the final version of the book.
In her memoir, Britney called the “Special Ops: Lioness” actor a “gift from God” and said that she was “giddy” with the thought of starting a family with him. “I have an appreciation for how stable he is. I love that he doesn’t even drink,” she wrote in one part of the book. “I knew I wanted him in my life immediately. The chemistry with us in the beginning was insane. We couldn’t keep our hands off each other.”
A day after her book was released, Sam was asked how he felt about her memoir. “I’m freakin’ proud of her, and I hope she takes over the world,” he said, as per Page Six. When asked about the part where she called him a “gift from God,” Sam added, “That made me smile, to be honest.”
Britney’s next book, if there is one, looks like it will largely focus on how the relationship with her ex didn’t work out. “Britney’s not looking to go after Sam,” a source told Us Weekly. “She just wants [to talk about] why the relationship broke down.”
In a statement posted to Instagram shortly after the news of the divorce broke, Britney took to Instagram to admit that she did feel “a little shocked” by the divorce but did not want to explain why at the time, saying that it was “honestly nobody’s business” why their relationship didn’t work out.
“As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business !!!” she wrote at the time. “But, I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly !!! In some sort of telepathic way I have been receiving so many messages that melt my heart from friends and I thank you !!!”
