It’s not clear if the 41-year-old pop star is under the weather but she donned a floral mask as she shared another dancing video with her followers.
Britney Spears Prompts COVID-19 Speculation Dancing With A Mask On
Does Britney Spears have COVID-19? That’s the question that fans have been asking after they saw her dancing in her living room on Friday night. She is wearing a white crop top, black shorts, and white boots, just as she has in dancing videos that she has posted over the last few days.
It looks like a recent video, as the Christmas tree is still lit in the background. She did not write anything in the caption of this Instagram post, which was liked by over 90,000 fans within eight hours of posting. Comments on her post, like many of her other posts, have been disabled.
Britney Was Once GROUNDED During The Pandemic For Taking Her Mask Off
In her memoir, “The Woman In Me,” which was released on Tuesday, October 24, the “Toxic” singer revealed that she had become “more of a homebody” during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. She explained that she spent most of her time crafting jewelry or listening to audiobooks; however, at times, she admitted that there were times when she just stared at the wall because she was really that bored.
Although she was allowed to leave her house, she explained that her father, Jamie Spears, “kept enforcing rules” whenever she stepped outside. At one point, the Princess of Pop recalled how she removed her mask on a trip to a beach because no one was around. Her security team told her father, prompting Britney to be “reprimanded and grounded for weeks.”
At the time, the “Womanizer” singer had been in a relationship with actor Sam Asghari after meeting on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video in 2016. However, he was not isolating with her due to his work schedule. Britney admitted that she was “lonely” during most of the pandemic.
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari’s Divorce Might Not Happen After All
Amid the release of her memoir, fans might not have noticed that there has not been a lot of news concerning the former couple’s divorce. The two became engaged in September 2021, two months before her conservatorship was struck down by a judge. They tied the knot in June 2022, but on August 16, 2023, the 29-year-old actor filed for divorce from the 41-year-old pop star citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
In addition to demanding spousal support and attorneys fees, the “Special Ops: Lioness” actor also listed July 28, 2023, as the official date of separation on the divorce filing. That being said, although Sam has moved out of the home and is staying at his own place in Los Angeles (on Britney’s dime) there have been no major moves on the divorce.
On October 27, the court ordered the former couple to actually get divorced or warned that it would be dismissed. At this point, Britney hasn’t yet responded and Sam hasn’t shown he’s actually served her with the divorce. This is incredibly rare to see in divorce cases and does occasionally happen where there is hope for the couple to reconcile.
Since the memoir was reportedly completed ahead of the divorce, Britney had only positive things to say about Sam in her memoir. She recalled how she was “instantly smitten” with him from the moment they met and confessed that she “knew” that she “wanted him in [her] life immediately.”
She went on to say, “The chemistry with us in the beginning was insane. We couldn’t keep our hands off each other, adding, “I have an appreciation for how stable he is. I love that he doesn’t even drink.”
The day after her memoir was released, the actor was asked how he felt about Britney’s memoir, which he previously claimed to have read. “I’m freakin’ proud of her, and I hope she takes over the world,” he said, as per Page Six. When asked about the part where she called him a “gift from God,” Sam added, “That made me smile, to be honest.”
