The international volleyball season is set to culminate with the Men’s Volleyball Club World Championship 2023, scheduled to take place in Bengaluru, India, from December 6 to December 10, 2023. The championship involves top-tier volleyball clubs from across the world. Italy’s Sir Sicoma Perugia, the current champions, are set to defend their title amidst tough competition from global powerhouses such as Halkbank Spor Kulübü from Turkey, Brazil’s renowned teams Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei and Itambé Minas, Japan’s Suntory Sunbirds, and host nation’s Ahmedabad Defenders.
On December 8, 2023, Halkbank Spor Kulubu will lock horns with Sada Cruzeiro Volei at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru. In their first game of the tournament, Halkbank Spor Kulubu was completely outclassed by the Suntory Sunbirds by 0-3 (23-25, 23-25, 16-25). However, the match between Sada Cruzeiro Volei and the Sunbirds on December 7 was an intense contest, with the former defeating the latter by a narrow margin of 3-2 (25-21, 31-29, 28-30, 22-25, 15-12).
