Keeping it simple but chic with a black shoulder bag, Westcott showed off her flawless skin and pink lipstick. She flaunted her long legs in the following slide, highlighted by the camera’s angle and feet encased in flat black shoes.

Standing on the sidewalk of a busy road, cars passed as she wrote in the caption, “Back in LA for week 2 of trial. Thank you to everyone for keeping Carl and our family in your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate it more than you know #HuntingtonsAwareness.” 

While some complimented her look, calling her “Gorgeous and so classy!” one admirer pointed out that she was “Looking 🔥,” while wishing her “good luck.” Another also noted, “Professional Boss Barbie activated 😍😍.” 

Others faced the issue, the law case, and wrote words of support in the comments, like this person who stated, “Wishing your family justice.” A fifth mentioned they were “Sending y’all ❤️,” and a sixth enthusiastically encouraged her to “Stay strong!!!” 

In her Instagram story, she shared the picture again with the caption writing in the color of their shirt and tagging the location “Downtown Los Angeles” above her. For those unaware, Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom are embroiled in a lawsuit over their $15 million mansion, initiated by the seller, Carl Westcott.

He claimed he was under the influence of painkillers during the sale and lacked the mental capacity to comprehend the contract’s implications. However, despite his subsequent decision to cancel the deal, the couple allegedly pressed on, arguing that Carl was bound to proceed. 

The court drama has drawn considerable public interest, and Carl’s daughter-in-law, Kameron, shared the latest updates. Posting a video featuring her in an animal print shirt and impeccable makeup, the star included a hashtag, #huntingtonsdiseaseawareness, acknowledging the inherited condition that her father-in-law was battling before saying: 

“We’re on trial day two and I just wanted to explain the obvious. The other side is basically saying he was in the right state of mind to sign the docu sign that he signed. And again, he is 84-years-old. At the time, he still had Huntington’s disease, dementia, and within that, you have impulsive behaviors.” 

She insisted that Carl regained his clarity after the fact and recognized that he “didn’t mean to sign that.” In conclusion, the “NotBasicBlonde Podcast” guest stated, “We’re just here fighting for his justice, and I hope this doesn’t happen to anybody else’s parents in the future. Just horrible to have to go through this.” 

The 40-year-old emphasized the importance of safeguarding and being “a little more kind to our elders” before adding that even if they “look like they’re in the right state of mind, that doesn’t mean they are.”

While the singer continues to fight for her rights concerning the $15 million mansion, the repercussions included introducing a new bill to allegedly protect the elders from the pop icon. 

Per The Blast, the bill called Protecting Elder Realty for Retirement Years Act, more popularly known as the Katy PERRY Act, gained momentum after the court case began. The proposed legislation addressed the potential “risks of elder financial abuse, especially concerning property and real estate sales and transfers.” 

The website created for the Act elaborated, “The Act establishes a 72-hour cool-down period during which either party involved in a contract for conveyance of a personal residence, in which one party is over the age of 75, can rescind the agreement without penalty.” 

The news was also posted on X and garnered swift attention among users. One person remarked, “Imagine getting an elder abuse bill named after you,” while another hailed the “Dark Horse” singer as the “Queen of pop and legislation.” 

A third stated, “I’m sad that it had to be Katy Perry but I’m happy that something like this is being taken seriously. Take care of your elderly family members, and things like this can happen less often.” Meanwhile, a fourth hilarious wrote, “Lmaooo they had to come up with something to stop her.”
