Severe Storms Arrive this Afternoon

There are areas of patchy dense fog across our southern counties this morning. Morning temperatures region wide are in the upper 50s inland and mid 60s elsewhere.

Severe storms will be possible heading into the afternoon where a Marginal risk (level 1 out of 5) for the risk of severe weather exist across the viewing area.

Main risks will be damaging winds (65+) and an isolated tornado threat.

The tornado threat will be potentially after 2 PM in our area as a line of storms approaches mostly north of 1-10 including Lake City and the tornado threat includes SE GA.

Jacksonville and the beaches south are not in the tornado threat zone, but severe storms may roll through our area in the evening hours after 4-5PM with the damaging wind risk.

Storms clear out after 9 PM Sunday and cold air starts to funnel in.

Rest of the week: Dry and cool conditions will dominate the weather pattern after the cold front moves through. Highs on Monday will be in the upper 50s and cool overnight lows in the upper 30s to 40s so frost conditions may return for Monday and Tuesday morning.

Temperatures quickly rebound during the week and rain chances return by next weekend.
