What does Kostas Tsimikas like about the full-back’s equaliser against Manchester City?

Liverpool and Manchester City played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in the Premier League on Saturday. The eventful game had plenty of talking points and there was a lot to ponder from the result. Manchester City took the lead just before the half-hour mark through their goalscoring machine Erling Haaland. City then went on to create numerous chances but were unable to convert them, something which would come to haunt them in the end.

With 10 minutes left to play, Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold calmly slotted home the equaliser to share the spoils in the 1-1 draw. Full-back Kostas Tsimikas went on to explain what he liked about the goal by Trent against Manchester City. “Of course he is confident, we are Scousers you know!. I can’t imagine how calm he was because if that was me, I couldn’t stay calm! The player he is, you can’t describe it. Everybody in the football world knows. It was a very good goal, very important and I am very happy for him and for the team,” he had told Liverpoolfc.com.

He added: “Yes, it is a very difficult place to come against one of the best teams in the world. [It is] a very tough place to come and play football, but at the end the only thing that matters in football is the three points. At the end we get one, we will deal with it and we will go with the same hunger, because I think it’s too early to talk about a title race. We will go with it and we will fight harder.”

We want to win everything: Kostas Tsimikas

Getting a point away at Manchester City is undoubtedly a positive for the Reds, which helps them maintain their title push. Speaking about their title ambitions, Tsimikas stated how he wants to win everything possible. “I believe we have a very good team. All the players that came in [during the summer] make us even stronger, so very talented players. I think we have everything to fight for everything, so we will go for it. I’ve said many, many times [that] we set our goals at the start of the season; we want to win everything, the Premier League games, cup games and the Europa League. So I think the future can be bright for us and we have to give everything and to fight in every moment,” he stated.

After the high-octane clash at the Etihad Stadium, Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister believed that it was a fair result. “I think it was a very tough game of course, what we expected. They are a very good team but I think it’s a fair result for both teams. They had most of the possession maybe but they didn’t have many chances and I think it’s a fair result,” he had told Liverpoolfc.com.
