Daniel Radcliffe may have grown up in the spotlight thanks to his breakthrough role as Harry Potter, but nowadays, the actors prefers to keep his personal life on the down-low. However, he appeared to reveal that he’s now a married man during a slip-up in a recent interview.
At the 2023 Emmy Awards, the actor was asked about the public’s response to his role in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. To this, Daniel replied by saying his partner’s parents were pleased with the film, referring to them as his “in laws.”

Daniel Didn’t Correct An Interview For Referring To Erin As His “Wife”
“Honestly, the people whose opinions I cared most about the movie were my in-laws,” the former child star remarked. “They are huge Weird Al fans and they kind of got me into it. But they were very happy, thank God.”
Perhaps even more telling, the interviewer later referred to Daniel’s long-time girlfriend Erin Darke as the actor’s “wife,” which Daniel didn’t correct him on, once again suggesting the couple are married or at least consider each other partners.
Daniel Became A First-Time Father Last Year
Daniel and Erin welcomed their first child, a baby boy, last year after a decade together. They met in 2012 while collaborating on the film Kill Your Darlings.
Daniel reflected on how fatherhood has been so far last October when he admitted to being intimidated by parenthood.
“He’s great, it’s amazing. There’s a short answer and a long answer to that. And the short answer is it’s awesome and he’s the best thing that’s ever happened,” he said of his son.
“It’s frankly terrifying to have a human being in the world that I care this much about,” Daniel went on. “And that everything he does is going to affect how I feel about my life for the rest of my life. So, you know, that’s intimidating.”
In July, shortly after becoming first-time parents, Daniel had nothing but sweet words to say about his long-time partner, sharing how they’d both adjusted to having a newborn at home.
“It’s great. It’s crazy and intense, but he’s wonderful and Erin is amazing — it’s a real privilege also to have this time with him,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I was always going to take some time off, which not everyone is able to do, and so I’m able to kind of just be here with him a lot, which is lovely.”

When questioned how his son may impact the roles he chooses moving forward, Daniel had a candid answer, saying, “I think it certainly will. It hasn’t really yet affected things, but I really like spending time with him, and I think I’m gonna miss him when I go back to work later in the year.”
He added, “So, I will definitely be I think a bit more selective — not more selective, I’ve always been selective, but I think I’ll probably work a little bit less for the next few years.”
While fans may not know a lot about Daniel’s personal life – including his legal marital status – it can’t be denied that he seems to be loving fatherhood, and fans love that for him.
