Gypsy Rose Blanchard has been eager to tell her story. Little by little, the public figure has been revealing more, and her latest interview with ABC News just shared a shocking new detail about her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard’s murder.
Despite what her mother did to her, Gypsy doesn’t see her mother as a “monster.” She explained to ABC News, “She had a lot of demons herself that she was struggling with. I didn’t want her dead. I just wanted out of my situation, and I thought that was the only way out.” Gypsy then opened up about her past and admitted she had gotten addicted to painkillers as she saw it as her “only way to cope.” She then dropped a shocking new detail, revealing she was high on drugs when she planned to kill her mom. She said, “Yes, I was … I don’t blame drugs. I don’t blame anything. I don’t make excuses. And now I’m sober. I haven’t used in four years and I don’t feel the need to.”
Gypsy’s drug use is a new added element to a story that people probably thought they knew everything about. And it seems that with Gypsy’s release, she’s only ready to reveal more. In a trailer for her upcoming Lifetime docuseries, “The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard,” she shared, “After a lifetime of silence, I finally get to use my voice to share my story and speak my truth.”
