ITV presenter Holly Willoughby has been pictured for the first time back at work since she stepped down from This Morning. The mum-of-three is set to make her comeback this weekend for the new series of Dancing on Ice.
The English author, best known for her hosting duties on ITV’s This Morning, was seen arriving at Bovingdon studios for rehearsals today. She was snapped doing some last-minute revision on which 12 celebrities will be taking to the ice rink.
Dancing On Ice is normally hosted by Holly and Phillip Schofield, however, earlier this year Phillip sensationally quit ITV after admitting to having an affair with a younger colleague.
Meanwhile, Holly continued to stay on This Morning until she announced her exit three months ago. Holly started her position in 2009 and fronted the show alongside her former co-host Phillip until his departure.
Phillip has been replaced by Stephen Mulhern, who briefly stepped in as a one-off host when Phillip tested positive for COVID-19 in the 2022 series. Stephen shared a sweet tribute to Holly on Instagram ahead of the show’s return.
Posting a throwback video of the British TV programme ‘Ministry of Mayhem,’ Stephen added the caption: “Unbelievably, the first ever Ministry of Mayhem aired 20 years ago TODAY! I loved the years doing this with @hollywilloughby! We’ll be back on your screens this Sunday, live at 6.30pm, doing something just as slippy… #DancingOnIce.”
Holly and Stephen first joined forces alongside Michael Underwood to host the interactive games show, which used to air on Saturdays on ITV1 at 9.25am. The children’s entertainment programme lasted from 2004 until 2006.
Many of Stephen’s fans flooded the comments section with nostalgic reactions, with one person typing: “Omg I feel old, I remember getting up on a Saturday morning and running straight to the TV to watch it.”
The new series of Dancing on Ice is reported to be the “frostiest yet” as there is a rumoured “feud” between one contestant and one pro skater’s girlfriend. S Club 7 stars Rachel Stevens and Hannah Spearritt are reportedly embroiled in a “long-standing feud”.
An insider told The Sun: “Falling on the ice is going to feel warm and painless compared to the cold front that will envelop Dancing On Ice if their paths cross.
“The best hope is that Hannah and Rachel are kept apart. But given the series lasts for two months and they could both be in the studio at the same time, that’s not going to be easy.”
