ITV Britain’s Got Talent in chaos as Simon Cowell ‘falls ill and is unable to film’

Simon Cowell was reportedly forced to miss a couple of Britain’s Got Talent auditions after falling ill with a headache after arriving at the London Palladium last month.

The media mogul, 64, is said to have been left “frustrated” after his health woes left him too unwell to work.

A source said: “Simon was due to film as normal but he started to feel unwell. After some deliberation, he told everyone he was unable to take part in filming.

“To say he was frustrated was an understatement. Simon loves making Britain’s Got Talent, so he was annoyed that he had to miss filming,” they added to the Daily Star.

As a result, Simon’s fellow judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli had to briefly carry on without him and The X Factor judge won’t feature in some footage from the 2024 series.

Many contestants were reportedly “upset” that they couldn’t perform in front of the dad-of-one after waiting “a while” for their turn.

The source added: “The hopefuls were left waiting for quite a while. Then they realised they wouldn’t be auditioning for Simon. Many of them were upset about it because he’s the one they wanted to impress.”

Express.co.uk has contacted Simon Cowell’s representatives for comment.

It comes just one week after police were reportedly forced to remove an intruder from the London auditions.

A woman had allegedly tried to “sneak” past BGT security to gain access to a restricted area.

A Met Police spokesman told Express.co.uk: “Police were called at 1.23pm today to reports of a woman suffering a mental health crisis at Argyll Street, W1.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. The woman was assisted by officers who made arrangements for her to be met by a family member. There were no offences.”

The Britain’s Got Talent judges, as well as hosts Ant and Dec, kicked off auditions in January for the show’s 17th series.

While the auditions are filmed early in the year, fans of the show will likely have to wait until April for them to air.

The episodes will likely air on ITV between April and June.
