Saturday Night Live has been the gold standard of television for decades. The popular sketch comedy show has lived on through many different generations and it has made stars out of several cast members.

Therefore, it is considered a high honor for a celebrity to host or perform on the show. It’s understandable that many of them would be nervous. Troye Sivan almost freaked out when a keyboard malfunctioned in rehearsal. Billie Eilish told Howard Stern that she was so nervous before hosting the show that she threw up.

When Jacob Elordi hosted SNL for the first time, there were no malfunctions or vomit, but he did seem visibly nervous. This is something fans online took notice of and they were very complimentary towards the actor.

Jacob Elordi Hosted ‘SNL’ For The First Time And Fans Say He Seemed Nervous During His Monologue

Jacob Elordi hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time in January 2024. Not only was the episode his first time hosting, but it was the first episode of the new year. It wouldn’t come as a shock if Elordi was feeling extra pressure.

Elordi began his opening monologue by mentioning his film Saltburn.

“You might know me from Saltburn. Not from seeing the film, just from seeing the TikToks,” Elordi joked. The broadcast then cut to a screenshot from the film where Elordi’s co-star Barry Keoghan has sex with a grave.

“I was the one in the grave,” Elordi said. “If you saw the movie, thank you. If you saw the movie with your parents, I’m sorry. If you saw the movie with your girlfriend, you’re welcome.”

Elordi then took questions from the audience. When someone asked the actor who his favorite Elvis was, he responded, “Lilo and Stitch Elvis.” This was in reference to Elordi’s role as Elvis in the movie Priscilla.

While this might seem like a joke to poke fun at Elordi’s age, it has some basis in reality. Elordi recently admitted during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that he was only familiar with Elvis thanks to the Disney film prior to portraying him.

“The most I knew of Elvis was in Lilo & Stitch,” Elordi said. “Which is a lot, by the way.”

Fans of Elordi took to the YouTube comment section to compliment the actor on his debut hosting gig. However, there seemed to be a common belief that Elordi seemed very nervous during his monologue.
