According to Miami-Dade County court documents, where Joe filed for divorce earlier this month, the pair’s 14-month-old is name Delphine. Her older sister, Willa, is 3-years old.
Sophie Turner Is Suing Joe Jonas For Keeping The Kids From Her
For a brief time, Sophie was silent following Joe’s decision to file for divorce. But last week, the Game of Thrones actress launched a lawsuit against the rocker, alleging that he was withholding their kids’ passports and preventing her from taking them to her native U.K.
As per legal documents acquired by Entertainment Tonight, Sophie filed a request for the immediate reunification of their kids. She claims that she and Joe agreed earlier this year to make England as their permanent place of residence, but now he’s trying to stop her from going abroad with the girls.
Furthermore, the documents claim that Sophie learned about the divorce not through Jonas or his legal representatives but through media sources.
Joe Jonas Denies Sophie Turner’s Claims, While She Hangs With His Ex
Joe, who’s currently on tours with the Jonas Brothers, was quick to respond to his estranged wife’s lawsuit, but only to deny her claims. “After multiple conversations with Sophie, Joe initiated divorce proceedings in Florida, as Florida is the appropriate jurisdiction for the case. Sophie was aware that Joe was going to file for divorce,” a statement released by Joe’s representative said.
“The Florida Court has already entered an order that restricts both parents from relocating the children,” it continued. “Sophie was served with this order on September 6, 2023, more than two weeks ago.”
“Sophie advised that she wanted to take the children permanently to the UK,” Joe’s response went on. “Thereafter, she demanded via this filing that Joe hand over the children’s passports so that she could take them out of the country immediately. If he complies, Joe will be in violation of the Florida Court order.”
The same statement emphasized that Sophie has had access to their children, and maintained that Joe is committed to amicable co-parenting.
“Joe and Sophie had a cordial meeting this past Sunday in New York, when Sophie came to New York to be with the kids,” it went on. “They have been with her since that meeting. Joe’s impression of the meeting was that they had reached an understanding that they would work together towards an amicable co-parenting setup.”
Joe and Sophie haven’t confirmed a reason for their split, but one report claims the couple started having trouble after the birth of their second child last year. Sophie hasn’t responded to Joe’s latest comment, but she made her own silent statement recently by hanging out with his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift in New York jusut as her lawsuit news made headlines.
