Louis Theroux has shared some heartfelt words about American porn star Kagney Linn Karter following his documentary on the adult industry.

On Twitter, the documentarian posted a link to his programme about the porn industry titled, Twilight of the Porn Star, and wrote: “Very sad to learn of the death of porn star Kagney Linn Karter.

“I interviewed her in 2012 for a BBC documentary (still on BBC iPlayer in the UK) – she was kind and thoughtful and v honest … My thoughts are with her friends and family.”

It’s reported that Kagney tragically ended her own life last week at her Ohio home.

Her friends created a GoFundMe page and stated: “As alone as she undoubtedly felt within the confines of her own head, she continued to make an effort to show up for her friends and the community who cared about her.”

“Louis revisits some of the original programme’s contributors as well as meeting the latest crop of performers dreaming of porn stardom.”

Fans are feeling sad for Louis after hearing the news.

One fan said: “It must be a bit of an odd one for you Louis. You meet all these people in documentaries and so forth and then the next your hear is when something shocking happens, or something sad like this. I guess it goes with the territory a bit.”

Another person mentioned: “It feels like there’s an epidemic of adult actresses committing suicide/overdosing, especially over the past 5-6 years. I thought of your documentary as soon as I saw this news.”

While we’re still waiting to find out how she died, TMZ claims that Kagney ended her life with a shotgun.

The Parma Police Department shared that her mum told them about the suicide and they found a note at her house. They haven’t found any clues of someone hurting her or drugs being involved. They also don’t know who owned the gun.

A fundraiser was made to help Kagney’s mum pay for the funeral, and it got more money than they needed!

It raised over $20,000 (£15,800), which is way more than the $8,000 (£6,300) they wanted. Any extra money will go to help animals.
