Lisa Riley wowed Emmerdale fans on social media yesterday, after sharing an “antique” from the ITV show. The Mandy Dingle actress looked almost totally unrecognisable as she shared a snap of the book Mandy’s Secret Diary, which featured her younger self on the cover.
Lisa, 47, took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to post the throwback pic. In view of her 140,600 followers, she wrote: “WOW WOW.”
Adding blushing emojis, she continued: “Blast from the past, this book was published 2000, making it 24 years old Mandy’s Secret Diary @emmerdale #emmerdale. Somebody sent me this today.
“Trip down memory lane or what??#flashback #memory #diary #mandydingle #dingles. I would say this is like a EMMERDALE ANTIQUE.” (sic)
The cover of the spin-off book showed a younger Lisa posing in a bright red patterned coat and low-cut black lacy top. The youthful star wore her dark brown hair in a messy bun piled high on her head.
Her followers appeared to be delighted with the post, with Rachel writing: “Wow, what a great gift.”
“Outstanding,” Nancy penned with heart emojis, while Lola added: “Beautiful xxxx love watching you in Fat Friends xxxxx.” (sic)
“Please would I be able to have a signed copy xx,” Scott pleaded.
On the cover, Lisa looks very different from how she does now, as the actress has undergone a huge weight loss transformation over the years.
Over an 18-month period, the star decided to start embracing the gym and eating healthier meals.
As a result, she reportedly went from a size 28 to a size 12, losing 12st in the process.
However, at age 46, Lisa was then left with painful folds of skin weighing more than 1.5 stone, which she later had several operations to have removed.
Nowadays, the soap star is thrilled with her new body, marvelling that she now feels comfortable wearing “sexy underwear”.
