Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods kept their friendship hidden for years following the latter’s cheating scandal with Tristan Thompson — despite the public’s belief they cut each other off completely.
While chatting with Jennifer Lawrence and Interview magazine, the Kylie Cosmetics founder revealed the pair simply stopped hanging out in public after Woods was caught getting intimate the NBA player in 2019 while he was still dating Khloé Kardashian.
“Jordyn and I, we always stayed in touch throughout the years and we would meet up at my house and catch up and just talk through everything,” Jenner explained.
“We never fully cut each other off, and one day, naturally, we were like, we want to get sushi and we don’t want to hide anymore.”
The sushi outing occurred in July 2023, when the two stepped out for a fun girls night for the first time in four years.
Although the outing sent the internet into a frenzy, it appears the pair have been on good terms for some time now.
However, that doesn’t mean the scandal didn’t impact their friendship at all.
The mother of two noted that she and Woods, who were once inseparable, decided they needed a slight break from each other following the headline-making incident.
“There’s a learning lesson in everything, and I think that in a weird way, everything happens how it’s supposed to happen,” Jenner explained.
“We were so attached at the hip that we needed space to grow into the people that we were supposed to be. I needed that independence and that confidence because she was like my security blanket for so long.”

Jenner also agreed with Lawrence that Woods was “so young” at the time and had simply “made a mistake.”
While Jenner has rarely talked about the situation in the years since, she and Thompson recently sat down to have a “long overdue” discussion about the ordeal during an episode of “The Kardashians.”
Thompson — who shares daughter True, 5, and son Tatum, 1, with Kardashian — admitted that Jenner was “affected the most” by the situation and “lost a sister” because of his actions.
“You guys were two peas in a pod, so the fact that I put myself in that situation that wasn’t right and wasn’t smart and made it tough for you and Khloé,” he said. “Because at the end of the day, you have your best friends and then you have your sister who you love more than anything else, so it’s 100 percent on me.”
“The fact that I came with my poor decision and being a f–king idiot and just being young and stupid, I wanted to say I’m sorry again for that,” Thompson, who was 27 at the time of the scandal while Jenner and Woods were just 21, added.
Jenner then told Thompson the same thing that she had told Lawrence.
“I think I was so dependent with Jordyn that I could have never imagined my life without her,” she reflected. “We probably would have still been living together, and I think she needed to grow without me, I needed to grow without her. But, you know, Jordyn and I are cool now.”
While Jenner has seemingly forgiven both Thompson and Woods, Kardashian also admitted she no longer feels any ill will towards the Woods by Jordyn founder — despite previously lashing out at her youngest sister’s longtime friend.
After Woods claimed she and the NBA player kissed but didn’t have sex on the “Red Table Talk” in 2019, the Good American founder slammed her on twitter for “lying.”
“If you’re going to try and save yourself by going public, INSTEAD OF CALLING ME PRIVATELY TO APOLOGIZE FIRST, at least be HONEST about your story,” she tweeted at the time. “BTW, You ARE the reason my family broke up!”
However, Kardashian later admitted that Thompson was “equally to blame” after facing backlash for putting all the blame on Woods and not her then-partner.
Then by 2021, Kardashian revealed that she didn’t “have any grudge against Jordyn” during the second part of the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians: The Final Curtain” reunion special.
“I think people make mistakes, people live and they learn,” she said. “I have to forgive these people for me, and it’s up to them to forgive themselves and be accountable and learn and hopefully don’t repeat these same cycles.”
Like her younger sister, Kardashian has also seemingly forgiven Thompson for his numerous bouts of infidelity.
The NBA player first cheated on her in 2017, right before she was expected to give birth to their first child. Shortly after they reconciled in 2021, Thompson cheated again — fathering another child with Maralee Nichols.
