Mariah Carey may be the queen of Christmas, but she also knows how to celebrate a new year.
The “Fantasy” singer, 54, continued her yearly tradition of taking a dip in a hot tub while wearing a designer gown as she closed out 2023 in Aspen.
She later shared a video of the special moment on Instagram, showing her in her red sparkling look.
“Wishing us all a healthy, peaceful & a happy new year! ❤️,” Carey captioned the video, in which she’s wearing a long-sleeved red gown with a plunging neckline, high slit and her hair’s pulled up high into a bun.
The newly single Carey even kept on her diamond chain necklace as she gingerly stepped into the hot tub, with snow falling around her.
Fans have become accustomed to the singer’s glamorous swim attire, as the superstar has made a habit of taking a dip in pricey Louis Vuitton or Tom Ford gowns over many years and places, from the Dominican Republic to Aspen.
“My girl loves to swim in a dress,” one person commented, while another said, “Queen of swimming with a dress on.”
Others joked that Carey is going into hibernation until next year’s holiday season, writing, “Now that the year has ended she will go under the surface until next year. That’s the secret of eternal youth 😂❤️.”

Lest anyone should worry that Carey may have ruined her look, she has plenty in her closet.
In her year-end video, she can be seen wearing many different outfits throughout her vacation, including one similar long-sleeved look in a nude color.
Plus, the mom of two even stepped out of her comfort zone on Dec. 31, sporting a silver sequin gown and posing with the left side of her face toward the camera, poking fun at the notion that she insists on only being seen from her right.
“New year, new beginnings..taking a picture from my ‘bad side’!,” she wrote.
