Mariah Carey’s ex Bryan Tanaka confirms ‘amicable’ breakup ‘with mixed emotions’

Bryan Tanaka confirmed that he and Mariah Carey called it quits.

“With mixed emotions, I share this personal update regarding my amicable separation from Mariah Carey after seven extraordinary years together,” the backup dancer wrote on Instagram Tuesday.

“Our decision to embark on different paths is mutual, and as we navigate these separate journeys, we do so with profound requests and an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the invaluable time we’ve shared.”

Tanka, who started dating the “Fantasy” songstress in 2016, further said he will hold their “memories” and “artistic collaborations etched” close.

“Mariah’s dedication to her family and her commitment to her craft have inspired us during our shared journey,” he continued.

Tanka further asked fans for privacy “during the sensitive time,” adding that he looks forward to how he will be inspired creatively “in the unfolding chapters.”

Rumors about Carey, 54, and Tanaka, 40, breaking up first surfaced around the time the hitmaker went on her annual trip to Aspen, Colo. alone earlier this month.

The dancer also skipped out on the singer’s “Merry Christmas One and All!” tour, which kicked off last month at the Yaamava Resort & Casino in Highland, Calif.

A source confirmed to Page Six on Dec. 20 that the two split because Tanaka, who is 14 years younger than Carey, wanted a family.

“That’s not where she is at,” the insider told us.

Sources previously told Page Six that the duo had broken up because the dancer wants kids and Carey doesn’t. bryantanaka/Instagram

Another source added, “[Tanaka] wants to start having his own life.”

The “Touch My Body” singer shares twins Moroccan and Monroe, 12, with her ex-husband Nick Cannon.

Carey and Tanaka were last seen together during a getaway for her birthday in March, per the Daily Mail.
