Martha Stewart’s spring essentials include this skincare staple she uses ‘daily’: Works ‘really well’

Martha Stewart’s spring schedule is anything but garden variety.

At 82 years old, the domestic doyenne is snapping viral selfies and preparing to grace the pages of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue once again — but that’s not stopping her from getting into the (literal) weeds of garden upkeep, too.

“I think people kind of get surprised at how much actual time it takes to grow beautiful things,” the star, who recently partnered with Miracle Gro, tells Page Six Style, saying she personally spends “a lot of time” caring for her beloved gardens.

When logging those long hours outside in the sun, the lifestyle mogul prioritizes skin protection, relying on Clé de Peau Beauté UV Protective Cream ($140) — which she says “works really well” — and Alastin HydraTint Pro Mineral Sunscreen ($76), an SPF moisturizer she previously said she “will not leave the house without.”

“I put some sunblock on every morning — a very good sunblock under my makeup if I’m wearing any,” she says.

“I have a makeup artist because I am often doing TV or promotions, but on a daily basis I use Alastin … and that’s great.”

In addition to caring for her complexion, the star’s keeping her garden equally fresh with Miracle Gro’s Raised Bed and Garden Soil ($7), which she says grew her “the most beautiful vegetables” she’s “ever had” — including broccoli “weighing eight pounds.”

“I’ve been growing since I was 3 years old, so I was quite taken aback and extremely pleased last year with my new raised bed garden,” she says.

After all, while she says the biggest gardening mistake she observes is “being overambitious and not spending enough time with the plan that you’ve chosen,” planting will always be a good thing in her book.

“I don’t want to discourage anybody,” she says. “One of my favorite endeavors on earth is to garden.”
