New in Beauty this November

November’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas when the festive beauty launches start rolling in.

This month’s standouts include Diptyque’s advent calendar containing the brand’s greatest hits in mini-form and Dior’s stunning holiday collection that takes inspiration from the Jardin des Tuileries.

Regardez-Moi

Le Regard Hermès, the latest crop of six eyeshadow palettes from the French luxury house, evokes the Bauhaus movement with shades in each quad presented in various geometric shapes. Imagined by the brand’s creative director for beauty, Gregoris Pyrpylis, every hue reflects colours seen in nature – a verdant garden’s greenery, the golden-yellow of autumn sunlight and a deep oceanic blue. The palettes are versatile, too, with matte, satin and shimmering finishes available. Shades can also be layered or built up to a higher intensity for a more statement look. As well as being refillable, all quads are made from 98 percent natural ingredients.

Guilty Pleasure

Gucci made headlines in March when it unveiled the vintage-glamorous Gucci Guilty campaign featuring the Hollywood holy trinity Elliot Page, Julia Garner and A$AP Rocky. The beloved franchise is back in the spotlight with two new additions: Gucci Guilty Elixir de Parfum Pour Femme and Pour Homme. The amber-floral and amber- leather fragrances are more concentrated versions of the original.

Jack of All Trades

The limited-edition Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked from Hourglass is a true all-rounder palette, complete with finishing powder, blusher, bronzer and highlighter to achieve a perfect rosy glow. The three vintage-inspired cases, designed by British artist Katie Scott, serve a purpose beyond self-decoration: 5 percent of profits are being donated to animal welfare through the Nonhuman Rights Project.

Inner Animal

Animalique from Byredo invites wearers to explore their wild, feral or, rather, animalistic side. The amber-floral perfume’s delicate top notes of lemon and bergamot fuse with base scents of tobacco leaves, sandalwood and amber, creating an unapologetically sensual aroma.

Out of This World

The sixth and final fragrance in Aesop’s Othertopias collection, this line of distinctive perfumes is inspired by poetry and aims to transport wearers to imagined worlds. Ouranon is a captivating yet deceptive scent. Although carrying no oud notes, this woody, spicy scent exudes the deep, rich earthiness associated with the ingredient, which is created with notes of frankincense and myrrh.

Christmas Countdown

Diptyque’s advent calendar is as chic as you’d expect from the heritage perfume house. Decorated with poetic calligrams that mimic dancing flames, it’s filled with products to keep you entertained in the countdown to Christmas, including perfumes, mini candles, soap and shower oils.

Baroque Beauty

This year’s festive collection from Dior draws from the French capital’s Jardin des Tuileries, where Christian Dior himself would find inspiration. It includes a clutch, lipstick and nail varnish – and we love this limited-edition Forever Cushion Case, adorned with white and gold baroque details evoking the garden’s snowy gates in winter.
