Pauly Shore sued for alleged assault and battery at The Comedy Store

Pauly Shore is being sued for assault and battery after a man was allegedly attacked by security personnel at his club, The Comedy Store, in November 2022.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six on Thursday, Sean Kehoe and his daughter, Kirra Lyn Potts, were attending a show at the comedy club when a member of security allegedly “violently grabbed and attacked” him.

Kehoe further alleges in the filing that the security guard dragged him, causing “severe injuries.”

As for Potts, she’s claiming that she was forced to witness the alleged attacks on her father, which caused them both “mental and emotional distress.”

The father-daughter duo claims that Shore “knew” his security team “planned to assault Kehoe” and “agreed with and encouraged” them to do so.

They also claim that the “Son in Law” star was “negligent in the selection of hiring” his employees and point out that he has a “duty” to “protect patrons” at his establishment.

Kehoe and Potts are now suing Shore for “battery,” “assault,” “intentional infliction of emotional distress,” “negligence,” “premises liability” and “negligence in the hiring of unfit employees.”

They are seeking compensation in the form of damages over past and future medical bills, loss of earnings and their alleged physical and mental harm.

The Blast was the first to report the news.

Reps for the father-daughter duo, as well as Shore, did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The “Jury Duty” star’s mother, Mitzi Shore, was a co-founder of The Comedy Store, where stars like Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld and David Letterman all got their big breaks. Pauly then took over when she died in 2018.

Most recently, Pauly, 55, has been at the center of drama surrounding his new Richard Simmons biopic.

After it was announced that the “Encino Man” star would be portraying Simmons on the big screen, the “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” star issued a rare statement to let fans know he did not green-light the project.

“Hi Everybody! You may have heard they may be doing a movie about me with Pauly Shore,” he wrote on Facebook. “I have never given my permission for this movie. So don’t believe everything you read.”

“I no longer have a manager, and I no longer have a publicist. I just try to live a quiet life and be peaceful,” he continued. “Thank you for all your love and support.”

Pauly also starred as Simmons in the short film “The Court Jester” which premiered last week.
