Sam Asghari slammed a “disgusting” news story suggesting he and Britney Spears were on the rocks, just three months before the couple reportedly broke up.
The personal trainer, 29, has separated from the pop superstar, 41, amid allegations of infidelity, TMZ reported Wednesday.
However, it wasn’t long ago that Asghari was shutting down rumors that his marriage to the “Toxic” singer — whom he wed in June 2022 — was in “deep trouble.”
“Ninety-nine percent of the time those are all clickbait [stories] for you to click and for them to make money, and that time is over,” he said in a since-deleted video from May.
Asghari also criticized the “TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom” documentary, accusing the outlet of using the “Hold Me Closer” hitmaker “as a money-making machine.”
“I found it absolutely disgusting for the people who were in her life when she didn’t have a voice, they went and told her story like it was theirs,” Asghari said.

“How are you going to take the most influential person of her generation, the Princess of Pop, America’s sweetheart, and put her in prison where her father [Jamie Spears] tells her what to do, what water to drink, who to see and use her as a money-making machine?” he went on.
“All of a sudden — after 15 years when she’s free after all those gaslighting, all those things that went down — now you’re going to put her under a microscope and tell her story?”
“No, no, that’s also disgusting, so don’t do that, and don’t believe what you read online,” he added.
Asghari concluded the video by asking the outlet to stop the “gaslighting and s–t.”
The “Piece of Me” songstress also attempted to shut down speculation about trouble in paradise when she shared a video on Instagram of the pair kissing.
“I feel so blessed to be with such an incredible husband who inspires me everyday!!” she captioned the post in May.
Sources have since told TMZ that the former backup dancer confronted Britney last week over rumors that she had cheated on him.
Although it remains unclear whether there was any validity to the claims, it allegedly led to a blowup argument between the two.
“It’s only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce,” an insider told the outlet.
Asghari has also reportedly moved out of their marital home.
Reps for Britney did not respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
