Tori Spelling’s son Liam needed to undergo a foot operation after injuring himself in an accident.
The “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum took to her Instagram Story Thursday to explain that the 16-year-old “fell down the stairs at home” six weeks ago.
Spelling said Liam experienced “no healing” on his own and that they chose to go the surgical route after receiving “many opinions.”
“Liam’s navicular accessory fractured bone in right foot needed to be removed and then tendon reattached to his main bone with a metal hook rod,” she told her followers.
The actress, 50, said her eldest child has “a long journey” ahead of him but that they’re both grateful the “recovery process” has begun.
She went on to thank “everyone for checking in with Liam and sending him messages and calls and ❤️ and humor before and after his surgery.”
Spelling also praised both the teen for doing “great” and his “amazing” surgeon for a successful procedure.
The mother of five revealed Wednesday that her “1st baby” was “waiting to go into foot surgery,” admitting, “Not sure who’s more nervous him or mama 😢.”

She commended him for his “bravery” and reminded him that “things can only get better after this!”
Spelling shares Liam, daughter Stella, 15, daughter Hattie, 12, son Finn, 11, and son Beau, 6, with her estranged husband, Dean McDermott, who is also dad to son Jack, 25.
McDermott — who announced the pair’s split in June and has since moved on with a woman named Lily Calo — recently divulged the details of what led to the demise of his 17-year marriage.
Prior to spending the summer in rehab, the actor told the Daily Mail last month that he would drink a fifth of tequila every night of the week and take a “handful of narcos [prescription meds]” by himself while his estranged wife and their kids were “petrified” in other rooms.
“Alcohol made me feel good enough. I started feeling good enough until it got to a point where it didn’t — it ended up in isolation,” the 57-year-old shared, adding that his final fight with Spelling led to both his since-deleted breakup post and a suicide attempt.
Though the “True Tori” star was reportedly “a little hurt and upset” by McDermott’s interview, she has not yet addressed their separation or his comments about them.
Spelling is now dating an advertising CEO named Ryan Cramer.
