Atlanta United predicted lineup vs FC Cincinnati

Following Atlanta United’s 4-0 triumph over Nashville SC, the Five Stripes are at home once again to take on Supporters’ Shield leaders FC Cincinnati.

Atlanta dominated against Nashville and put on a show in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, but things will get tougher when Cincinnati come to town. With the Five Stripes being in top form, they’ll be eager to take on Cincy after impressive wins to strengthen their position in the Eastern Conference table.

Head coach Gonzalo Pineda has praised Atlanta’s new signings Xande Silva, Tristan Muyumba and Saba Lobjanidze, and all three could feature in the starting lineup for the first time against Cincy. Lobjanidze was reportedly training during negotiations between Atlanta and his former club, Turkish Super Lig side Hatayspor, so he just might be fit enough to be thrown into the XI.

GK: Brad Guzan – No brainer for Atlanta’s shot-stopper, who’s kept back-to-back clean sheets – something that has almost been unheard of in 2023 for the Five Stripes.

RB: Brooks Lennon – Displayed another solid showing at full-back and will continue to be Pineda’s first choice at the position.

CB: Miles Robinson – Was everywhere in defense, making sure the likes of Hany Mukhtar and Sam Surridge were unable to generate anything in attack while scoring a headed effort in the process.

CB: Luis Abram – Has started back-to-back league games and hasn’t really put a foot wrong, playing his part in keeping the two clean sheets.

LB: Caleb Wiley – Held his own once again in defense and continues to impress at just 18-years-old.

DM: Tristan Muyumba – Another spectacular performance in the middle of the park from the Frenchman, and he’s established himself as a regularly starting midfielder alongside Almada.

DM: Matheus Rossetto – His last two performances have gone under the radar, and they’ve been good enough to get the job done against Seattle and Nashville.

RM: Saba Lobjanidze – Came off the bench and announced himself to the Atlanta fans by scoring a teriffic back-heeled effort, and should be in line to start as

AM: Thiago Almada – Atlanta’s best player continues to be in excellent form amidst transfer talks about a potential move to Europe.

LM: Xande Silva – The former Nottingham Forest player has made an immediate impact, registering one goal and one assist in the win over Nashville.

ST: Giorgos Giakoumakis – Another no brainer on the team sheet. The Greece international has done a terrific job in leading the line for the Five Stripes with 12 goals in 19 appearances.
