Man City vs Tottenham – Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

Manchester City return to Premier League duties in the final match of Gameweek 14 as they host bogey side Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens confirmed top spot in their Champions League group with their midweek win over RB Leipzig but trail Arsenal by a point at the top of England’s top flight heading into the weekend.

Spurs have managed consistent wins over reigning champions City in recent years but come into the game with a host of absentees off the back of three consecutive defeats.

Here’s 90min’s preview of the game on Sunday.

Man City remain without midfield trio Kevin De Bruyne, Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes and changes will be expected from Guardiola after the dramatic 3-2 win over RB Leipzig on Tuesday.

Jack Grealish overcame illness to start but is likely to drop out for natural alternative Jeremy Doku, while there could be a first start since early November for John Stones, though Guardiola has said he will not risk the England international suffering another injury soon after recovering.

Manchester City predicted lineup vs Tottenham (3-2-4-1): Ederson; Walker, Dias, Ake; Rodri, Akanji; Foden, Silva, Alvarez, Doku; Haaland.

Ange Postecoglou remains without summer signings James Maddison, Micky van de Ven and Manor Solomon, while Cristian Romero will complete his three-game suspension for a red card against Chelsea.

Rodrigo Bentancur is facing another two months on the sidelines after tearing a ligament in his ankle against Aston Villa in his first Spurs start since February. Pape Matar Sarr is an injury doubt but Yves Bissouma is available again after serving a one-game ban.

Tottenham predicted lineup vs Manchester City (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Porro, Emerson, Davies, Udogie; Bissouma, Lo Celso; Johnson, Kulusevski, Gil; Son.

Man City spluttered in their draw with Liverpool last week but will hope their victory in Europe has done enough to blow away any remaining cobwebs after the November international break.

Tottenham are at their most vulnerable since Postecoglou’s arrival, with injuries placing a significant spotlight on their lack of squad depth. They were guilty of wasting a lot of chances in the Villa defeat and such profligacy won’t be mirrored by City’s in-form stars.

Spurs have upset the odds against the treble winners on a number of occasions in recent years but their gung-ho approach will suit the hosts, who should have too much attacking quality to drop points for the third successive league game.

Prediction: Manchester City 3-1 Tottenham
