PSG vs AC Milan – Champions League: TV channel, team news, lineups & prediction

Group F is up for grabs and another exciting matchday is in store with Paris Saint-Germain playing host to AC Milan on Wednesday night.

PSG are in desperate need of a bounce-back Champions League showing after they succumbed to the St. James’ Park cauldron on Matchday 2 as Luis Enrique’s bold but naive approach left them vulnerable to a thrashing. A 4-1 beatdown ensued.

Nevertheless, PSG’s start under their new boss has otherwise been promising and they head into this one having asserted total control in a 3-0 Ligue 1 victory over Strasbourg.

Milan, meanwhile, lost another ‘big’ game at the weekend as they were beaten by a vintage Massimiliano Allegri-led Juventus. The Rossoneri were reduced to ten men in the first half and former midfielder Manuel Locatelli made them pay after the restart. Having drawn their opening two group fixtures, the visitors could do with avoiding defeat in the French capital.

Here’s 90min’s preview of the upcoming Champions League clash between PSG and Milan.

Presnel Kimpembe could soon return to the fold having returned to training following a lengthy injury layoff as a result of an Achilles injury. However, he won’t be in action on Wednesday night.

PSG will also be without Sergio Rico and Nuno Mendes, while Marco Asensio isn’t expected to be back until the start of November.

Achraf Hakimi and Milan Skriniar should both come back into Enrique’s starting XI, as should Ousmane Dembele higher up the pitch.

PSG predicted lineup vs Milan (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Hakimi, Skriniar, Marquinhos, Hernandez; Ugarte, Vitinha, Zaire-Emery; Dembele, Ramos, Mbappe.

Malick Thiaw was dismissed in Milan‘s defeat to Juventus, but he’ll be available for selection in midweek.

However, Stefano Pioli will be without summer arrival Samuel Chukwueze, Mattia Caldara, Marco Sportiello, and star midfielder Ismael Bennacer on Wednesday. Bennacer isn’t expected to return until next January.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is a doubt with a muscle injury, but Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez should return to the XI.

Milan predicted lineup vs PSG (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Hernandez; Krunic, Adli; Pulisic, Reijnders, Leao; Giroud.

Milan were insipid at the weekend, but they’ll be emboldened by the returns of Maignan and Hernandez. However, outside of their defeat on Tyneside, PSG have generally been impressive under Enrique and they’ll seek to dominate the visitors on home soil.

Milan’s press will be key if they’re to snatch anything from Wednesday’s game, as will the form of goalkeeper Maignan. They’ve certainly got the superstar in Leao to hurt the hosts as well as the resilience to keep PSG at bay, but the hosts’ superiority should shine through.

Prediction: PSG 2-1 Milan
