Real Madrid unveil 2023/24 third kit inspired by past European glory

Real Madrid have unveiled their new adidas third kit for the 2023/24 season that evokes strong memories of the club’s Champions League triumph in 2000.

The black with yellow details is reminiscent of the kit Madrid wore in the final against Valenica in Paris when goals from Fernando Morientes, Steve McManaman and Raul comfortably decided the all-Spanish contest. It was the club’s eighth European Cup triumph.

“We’ve taken inspiration from Real Madrid’s long-standing place as trendsetters in the game of football, to create something that allows fans and players to stand out,” explained Sam Handy, adidas vice president for design football.

“First and foremost, this is a piece built to support athletes on the biggest stage. However, by designing at the intersection of legacy, identity and expression, this is a jersey built to be as successful for the fans on the street, as it is for the players on pitch.”
