Judge Frank Caprio just shared devastating news about his health to fans. The infamous judge has announced that he’s been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and asked fans to pray for his recovery.
Thousands of fans flooded the TikTok post with well wishes to Caprio’s family and prayers for his health.
Judge Caprio officially retired from his post after almost 40 years and will likely become Judge Emeritus. He’s known as an advocate of empathy, understanding, and compassion and recently encouraged people and the government to adopt his ideology.
Judge Frank Caprio Announces Cancer Diagnosis
Earlier today, Judge Caprio posted an emotional video announcing that he’s been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. The video, which has gone viral on TikTok, featured Caprio himself discussing his health. The judge said he recently turned 87 and celebrated the occasion with his family and close friends.
He said, “I received so many wonderful messages from people all over the world. This birthday is a little different than any other I have ever had.” Caprio further explained that he had been feeling under the weather recently and went to the hospital for a medical examination, after which doctors discovered he had pancreatic cancer.
Caprio explained to fans that he’s currently receiving treatment from doctors in Boston and Rhode Island. He said, “One thing that people ask me is ‘What can I do for you?’ First of all, I can’t thank all of you enough for your friendship and your kind messages. But I would ask each of you in your own way to please pray for me. I am in need of the power of prayer, which I believe, in addition to the medical treatment that I am receiving, is the most powerful weapon to help me survive this.”

Judge Caprio’s TikTok post currently has over 85 thousand likes and 17 thousand comments, which are mostly prayers for his recovery. One of the comments read, “Father God, we humbly pray for Frank who is fighting cancer. Give him the hope and courage he needs each day. Comfort him in his pain and bless him..”
A second fan wrote, “You’re an angel we love keep fighting. you warm my heart with such kindness you an angel on earth prayers love & hugs sent your way!!!!” Another person commented, “You in God’s arms will fight the good fight. I will be praying for you to survive this. YOU are one of the kindest people.”
A fourth person noted, “You are an exceptional wonderful human being. Always helping others at court. God will protect you and bless you.” Another fan prayed for Caprio’s family, writing, “May God bless you and your family during this difficult time! We pray for healing to overcome this cancer! God can heal you, stay strong through this!”
Judge Frank Caprio Officially Retired Earlier This Year
Caprio retired from his position as a Judge earlier this year after serving the bench for almost 40 years. His statement at the time partly read, “As I reflect on my 38 years as a judge, I hope I have lived up to the example of all those that served before me, either on the bench or in city government, to make Providence a city that welcomes all.”
Shortly after, Providence City Council President Rachel Miller accepted Caprio’s retirement as Chief Judge of the municipal court. She said, “I intend to support the nomination of Judge Caprio before the entire City Council to become Chief Judge Emeritus of the Providence Municipal Court.”
Judge Frank Caprio Is An Advocate Of Empathy And Compassion
In September, Judge Caprio delivered a speech at the Sharjah International Communication Forum in Dubai. His speech emphasized the importance of a culture of empathy and understanding for decision-makers and how helpful it is to people. Capri said his visit to the UAE was to promote this message of using understanding and compassion to unite humans.
Caprio, well-known for his TV show “Caught in Providence,” said he uses this ideology in dispensing justice and feels it can thrive outside the legal system. He told The National, “It’s a win-win for the government and the public because people are happier when they see that the role of the government is to help them.”
