I’m A Celebrity host Ant McPartlin is reportedly expecting a baby with wife Annie-Marie Corbett in June – and according to sources they are “delighted”. She is said to have recently had her five-month scan, which, according to reports, caused an excited Ant to reveal the news to the Britain’s Got Talent team.
A source published in The Sun said: “This is the news everyone wanted. Ant and Anne-Marie are beyond delighted. It’s no secret that Ant has always wanted children.”
He was previously married to Lisa Armstrong between 2006 and 2018, but heartbreakingly she faced a “tough” struggle to conceive and their marriage ended without kids. Instead, their dog Hurley became a lot like a baby to the couple and they continue to take turns to look after their beloved labrador to this day.
Lisa has made her first social media update since Ant’s baby news was announced, with a loving tribute to the canine. Sharing an illustration of a dog’s paws in an owner’s hand, she wrote on Instagram: “Thank you for being my dog, someone to do life with, and above all, thank you for being my best friend.”
In 2013, Ant had revealed to the Radio Times: “There’s a rumour that I’m holding off having kids till [co-host Declan Donnelly] finds himself Mrs Right. I love that idea, but I’m afraid it’s not true. Lisa and I would love to have kids. We’re trying. It’s tougher than you think when you get a bit older.”
Now reports say that 46-year-old Anne-Marie will be the one to give birth to his first child.
Although Lisa has remained childless, a source claimed: “To be having a child two years short of his 50th birthday, with the love of his life, is the stuff of dreams for Ant.”
Friends previously suggested to MailOnline that Lisa would be “very upset” at the news, as she had reportedly been desperate to give birth herself.
However, she has not publicly commented on the matter.
Anne-Marie had previously worked for Ant as a PA before the I’m A Celebrity host divorced Lisa, but the pair’s relationship was strictly platonic back then.
Lisa, formerly a singer in the pop band Deuce, remained married to him for 12 years, splitting with him after he entered rehab to address addiction issues back in 2018.
Their marriage ended in just 30 seconds after he went on to admit to adultery.
He is not believed to have cheated on Lisa, but the pair were technically still married, albeit separated, when his relationship with Anne-Marie began.
