Jeremy Vine panellist and former Big Brother contestant Rebecca Jane has said she may be facing a battle with bowel cancer. Rebecca took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday (February 1) to share a long post in which she revealed that she was going through a period of ill health which saw her rushed to the hospital twice.

The 39-year-old, who announced she was stepping down from her role as Deputy Leader of UKIP after almost 18 months on January 10, also said her illness has seen her lose weight rapidly. She shared: “The last 3 weeks have been horrendous.

“I’m now classed as a ‘suspected bowel cancer’ case. I’ve lost 1 stone & 3lbs in 2.5 weeks,” wrote Rebecca in view of her 51,800 Twitter followers.

“I can’t eat. I’ve had 2 blue light trips to hospital & morphine doesn’t cure the pain.” (sic)

Despite saying doctors fear the worst, Rebecca, who appeared on Big Brother in 2017, said she wasn’t concerned. “Do I think I have ‘bowel cancer?!’ Absolutely not… but something is very wrong,” she added.

“I do read all your messages – thank you! But I’m exhausted. Ideas & suggestions have been super helpful.” Rebecca, who also said she felt “let down” by the “incompetent” NHS A&E department, praised her local GP team.

“A&E have been THE WORST…,” she ranted. “But my GP & other consultants have been the best!

“I speak a lot of NHS incompetence, it’s only fair I speak when they get it right too. A consultant referred me under the 2-week rule at 11am today.

“By 7pm, the hospital called, booking me in for the investigation she required. That’s incredible. It’s day 20 of the ‘s**t show of my stomach’, and 3 weeks tomorrow since I was first taken to hospital.

“I’ll get to the bottom of this, and hopefully it will help SO many of you who have similar issues!” (sic)

Rebecca first stepped into the spotlight in 2015 with daytime TV appearances on the likes of This Morning and Loose Women, where she promoted her “honey-trapping” business, in which she and her team would catch cheating partners in the act.

She has been known recently for her controversial and right-wing beliefs regarding political and cultural talking points including Brexit and immigration.
